Lake: Although it is not a deep lake (deepest point 5ft) it is fed by underground springs which make it an ideal home for carp. The lake was tested by an independent fishery expert in September 2007 and was found to be in superb condition including PH levels, etc. The lake has a silt bed with gravel and sand margins which again is perfect for carp. All this is reflected in the quality condition and healthiness of our fish! Depths vary from less than a metre near the feeder stream, averaging 1m in the centre and down to 2.5m at the dam wall end. The lake bed is largely firm with pockets of patchy silt, notably at the dam. The banks are flat and grassy, ideal for setting up a bivvy and a pod. There are no specific pegs, but the bank is fishable along its entire length. Access is by foot, with parking at the entrance to the lake. The whole site is secure and fenced in.

The lake dates back to 1947 and consequently has a good head of original carp. To supplement these fish the owner stocked additional carp in 2002 to a fraction under forty pounds, while several of the seven catfish stocked went over the 40lb mark. So far the lake record stands at 39lb 6oz for a mirror and whilst the average common would be a double, they do run to over 30lb.{rokcomments}

Our beautiful freshwater lake is lined with trees, many of them over-hanging the water, and is fed by both an ancient trout river and an underground spring. Fishing on many larger carp lakes in France mean that you have to chase the fish for days with very little success.Our lake which is just under 2acres, is packed with large healthy specimens, meaning great results are virtually guaranteed. Our fish now weigh up to 105lb.

The lake has recently been de-silted and contains no crayfish or poison chat, both common in French waters, so netting of bait is not necessary. The lake is completely private, peaceful and secure and teems with birds and wildlife.

Description: Lac du Val is around 4½ acres & set in northern Normandy, less than an hour's drive from the ferry port of Caen. The privacy of the site allows peaceful and tranquil carp fishing in lush rural surroundings for a maximum of five anglers - it is possible to book the lake exclusively.

Lake: The lake, which opened as a commercial fishery in 2004, is of the small Estate lake type surrounded by grassy banks, dammed at one end and with two islands providing a natural haven for the carp at the top end. It is fed by a trout stream so the water quality is excellent.

The depth varies from 3m at the right hand end of the damn wall, averaging 1.5m in the centre, down to as little as 50cm in the shallows by the islands at the top end.

Stock: The current stock is over 200 carp and the largest resident, a magnificent common, goes to 62lb 2oz!

The water currently has at least 30+ thirties and 15+ forties and 4 known 50+’s... and this number is increasing all the time.

David has stocked the lake himself and has followed a policy of introducing good quality fish in small batches and these have now grown to a very good size. The first batch of carp, stocked in 2000, were all mid to upper doubles and these fish now make up the bulk of the 20's in the water. Since then fish have been added on a regular basis, with a batch of 22 fish added in January 2004 - all these fish were over twenty pounds. In February 2004 a further 24 carp were added - 5 x 30lb, 15 x 20lb, 3 x big doubles and a cracking 43lb common. Finally in October 2005 a 52.04 mirror was stocked.{rokcomments}

Description:Remy is 25 acres in size, set in the heart of a forest near the famous Lac D'Orient, around 4 hours from Calais. The setting is wild & undisturbed with overhanging trees, lilies & fringes of reeds around the perimeter. The surrounding woodland is rich in flora and fauna with deer, wild boar and a myriad of other birds and animals. Remy accommodates up to 10 anglers and can be booked exclusively.

The lake is fairly deep at the dam wall end, going to about 3m. There's a feeder stream running down the length of the lake bed so it has the classic features of gentle slopes to the centre with shallow water at the top end. There's a number of lily beds which not only add to the beauty of Remy but also provide good fish holding features to fish to.

Stock:330 carp with numerous fish over 35lb. Largest over 50lb

Facilities:Remy is a carp anglers paradise set in wonderful woodland scenery, but the lakeside facilities are somewhat basic, consisting of a small wooden toilet block at the entrance. There is no running water or electricity but additional facilities, which include a hot shower, toilet, kitchen and sleeping quarters are available in the nearby village (2-3 minutes by car). Alternatively you could use the main club house on the nearby Jonchery lake which is about ten minutes away.
